Relics

Fernando Cucci

14th October – 8th November 2023
openingSaturday 14th October 2023, at 6,30 pm

The exhibition offers a collection of works almost all produced in a single year.
In the overlapping  cotton, linen, gold leaf, cylindrical shapes emerge from the white and seem to be made from the material of certain minor relics: stucco dust from crushed sacred bones. Again, a folded sheet of paper with the writing only partially visible. Or, lists of unknown names, recovered like fossils from the past. In an act of disobedience towards history, Fernando attempts to capture with this one gesture a cancelled quotidian.
