Galleria Immaginaria is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Franco Zabagli, with a selection of works created in the last ten years.
Franco Zabagli was born in 1959 in Polcanto, a small town in Mugello, and has lived in Firenze since 1989. He worked for 40 years at Gabinetto Vieusseux, where he was responsible for the archive of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s manuscripts and the cultural activities of Sala Ferri. Philologist and Italian literature scholar, he has written essays on 19th and 20th Century Italian poets and writers, now collected in Filologia minima su Pasolini e altro (Ronzani, 2022). He worked on the complete edition of Pasolini’s film writings for Mondadori’s «I Meridiani» series (Per il cinema, 2001), and on the edition of Eugenio Montale’s letters to Irma Brandeis (Lettere a Clizia, Mondadori, 2006). He has been devoted to works in ink on paper and collage since 2010, and has exhibited them in four solo exhibitions: Sedimenti e strappi (Firenze, Libreria Babele FMR, October 2011), Papiers trouvés (Firenze, Galleria Immaginaria, April-May 2015), INK/Inchiostro (Firenze, Officina Profumo Farmaceutica Santa Maria Novella, May 2016), Scriptorium (Milano, La Scala Studio Legale, Auditorium Piero Calamandrei, May-June 2017).
