The exhibition Disincantata armonia by the artist Patrizia Bogani opens on Saturday, 18th March, 2023 at 6 pm at the Galleria Immaginaria in Florence.

In her paintings, the artist skilfully turns to abstraction and manages to evoke inner images in which everyone can recognize their own authentic emotions. In her canvases she transfers memories, signs, scars and suggestions by weaving the canvas, metaphorically recalling further meanings linked to the path of existence of the human being.

Dedicated for a long time to probing the creative potential of fabric, Patrizia Bogani investigates reality, beyond rational appearances. The use of fragments of various types of fabric, characterizes the very structure of the work of art for a sometimes plastic, almost sculptural rendering of the material and the sign on the pictorial surface, sometimes veiled by an evanescent transparency. In the series of whites, in the synthetic composure of the folds, geometries and weaves, one breathes a sense of refined and disenchanted harmony. In the more lively chromatic combinations, that  vis expressive symbolic of the color itself stands out overwhelmingly, impetuous, which leaves you breathless, as happens in certain informal abstractionism or in the lyrical abstractionism of Kandinsky or, even earlier, in the fauvism and expressionism of Van Gogh and Gauguin.

Patrizia Bogani combines artistic talent with a deep technical knowledge of the fabric. In the 1960s, she drew sketches for Emilio Pucci to be used in printing. She has taught Textile Design at the Buzzi Institute in Prato and at the University of Florence where, currently, he designs and directs courses in Textile Technologies.
