A 4 mani

Domenica Regazzoni

5th march – 26th march 2022
inauguration Saturday 5th march 2022, at 17,00

An enduring link between music and painting, between poetry and colour.
A selection of canvases by Domenica Regazzoni, a Lombard artist, inspired by the songs of the Bolognese singer-songwriter, 10 years after his death.
The exhibition brings together works, created between 1998 and 2019, which represent not only the bond between art and music, but also the very strong tie of friendship that united the two artists.
The works created on canvas thus become an expression in a pictorial key and a homage to Dalla’s most beautiful lyrics that now remain immortal. From Caruso to Com’è profondo il mare (How deep is the sea), from Henna to Cosa sarà  (What will be). These are the songs that inspired Regazzoni in the realization of her works. Intense multi-material blues, shades of yellow and orange thus recreate evocative and enveloping landscapes.

“In the works of Domenica there are my favourite shades. The way in which this artist interpreted my music was truly unimaginable for me” maintained Lucio Dalla in an interview in 2000.

Music has always been part of Regazzoni’s poetics. Her luthier father and composer brother have been an accompaniment to her stylistic code, which led the artist to create highly lyrical works with strong references to abstraction.
The exhibition is accompanied by an instrumental re-elaboration of the two songs Nun Parlà and Occhi chiusi created by Cesare Regazzoni, the artist’s brother, exclusively for the event, where Lucio added his very personal vocalizations.
